Music Ministry Position in the Archdiocese of Omaha

Dear All,

Please share this with colleagues, AGO and NPM chapters, and graduates of your Institutions.
I am excited to announce a new full-time position at the Archdiocesan level in Omaha.  The Minister of Music Formation will work with and support the Church’s music ministry of parishes, priests, and educators. Not residing in a particular parish, but available to multiple parishes, this Minister will set up additional musical support and teaching in the Archdiocese, with a particular access and support for rural areas and small parishes.
Complementing the Archdiocesan Music Director position which is primarily a “Practitioner of Liturgical Music who also teaches,”  the new position will be a “Teacher of Liturgical Music who also practices.”  I’m very excited for this new concept, in which the individual will serve in collaboration with other ministries in the Archdiocese and have the opportunity for creativity in Liturgical, Musical, and Pastoral Ministry.
The Archdiocese of Omaha is a great place to work under the leadership of Archbishop George J. Lucas – and under the patroness of our beloved Saint Cecilia, patron of the Archdiocese as well as musicians!
Please share with people you think would be a good fit.  To see a job description and/or apply go to www.archomaha.org and scroll to the gold colored section at the bottom of the home page to the Careers link.  The search will proceed until the position is filled, with a flexible start-date.
Blessings,
Marie

BEDIENT ORGANS Re-Dedication Concert
Marie Rubis Bauer, Organist

Two organs that have served Saint Cecilia Cathedral for more than two
decades each, find new homes in the Cathedral.  In the month of June,
the two organs “switched places” with the help of former Omaha
resident, Mark Pichowicz.  The move allows both of these beautiful
musical instruments to reside in acoustics that support their voices
better.  The one-hour program will start in the Our Lady of Nebraska
Chapel, where pieces will be played to show the sounds of the smaller
“Boston” instrument, and will include an up-close look at the
instrument in the loft.  Then the second half will be in the nave,
where the larger “Houston” instrument is now installed, followed by a
tour of the instrument.  All are invited to hear these beautiful
instruments sing!

All concerts will be held at:

Saint Cecilia Cathedral
701 N 40th St.
Omaha, NE 68131
